Muly?

Before all the namby-pambys and weak-kneed folks get up in arms about me talking
about it getting hot in May ("But it always gets hot in May"), listen to me now
and believe me later...those are near-record temps. So that would be UNUSUAL heat
for May, and a bit our of character for this last few weeks since we've been so
cool for the last couple of weeks.

And by the way, *I'M* a namby-pamby, so save your outrage for the weak-kneed
amongst us!

Here's the deal, though...I'm sure everybody thought May was gonna be a doozy
after all the rain and tornadoes we saw during March and April, but so far it's
been rather weak (if May had knees, that is). As far as I can tell, we've had 39
tornadoes thus far in 2025, and only one of those came in May. Now we definitely
could have had more than that, but we won't really know until the NWS folks
finish their investigations of possible twisters. In fact, I can't even think
of any severe weather in the state since May 1, so to go 11 days (and counting!)
with no severe weather is rather awesome.

We do have a chance of storms coming up later into this week and through the
weekend, but that's definitely not a definitely "thing" just yet, definitively
speaking, and I don't want to jinx it either by speaking severe weather into
existence.

But let's be honest, if I could speak things into existence, I would have said
"Gary's got Patrick Dempsey hair!" long ago. But we're getting to the point
that we're gonna need some more rainfall soon as we heat up and things go into
a bit of a late-spring mode that we haven't seen for a few weeks.

But the rain, as with the storms, is pretty tenuous (English to Okie translation:
"iffy") right now.

The longer we can go with a quiet May is a good thing, for the most part. But
we'd definitely take some quiet rain.

Now back to the weak-pambys and namby-kneed...
