WAKE UP RANDY!

A Ticker? On my day off??? AND a pledge pin on my uniform??

HARRUMPH!!

Oh, I'm a good harrumpher, alright, and such a magnanimous (English to Okie
translation: forgiving) display of pity shown to me by reading this with such a
lugubrious (English to Okie translation: I have no clue, I heard it on an SCTV
skit about Howard Cosell about 40 years ago...youngsters, google SCTV and Howard
Cosell, then google lugubrious and let me know: 1) if I spelled it correctly, and
2) what it means) looking wind chill map.

Speaking of "A Christmas Story," (we were, but I erased it so you didn't know it),
how much you want to bet Christmas Day is 30 degrees warmer than today? But, I just
had to Tick to Tock about the coldest Oct. 19 in our state's history. Well, TIED
with our coldest Oct. 19 in our state's history. The 17 degrees at both Nowata
and Vinita ties the lowest temperature ever recorded on this date, joining Oakwood
way back in 1917. But for most of NE OK, it was a record-breaking morning.

This is also the coldest weather for most of us since way back on April 14, so
we've had a good run of about 6 months.

Now we watch today's highs to see if any of those are record-breakers for
remaining on the cold side. Looks like we're safe thanks to lots of sunshine.

So out with winter, let's welcome summer back, shall we?

Still looking at the rainfall being forecast from a possible storm system early
next week. As always, I'll believe it when I see it.
