Obi Cannot Kenobi
Just a quick Tick today as I try and solve the world's biggest problems...the
only thing is I try to think but nothing happens.
So we've bandied (I don't know, just sounded good...probably read it somewhere)
about the prospects for drought relief over the last week as we kept getting this
wet signal on the outlooks, but they were never really making it into the actual
forecasts. As you can see above, I fear that is the case.
Oh, make no mistake about it, the 1-1.5" forecast for west central Oklahoma is
greatly appreciated, but as is often the case, Mother Nature is stingy with the
bulk of the state. And it has rained out west already with some good dust-settling
amounts.
Heck, it's raining now for crying out loud!
That looks better than it is, but if you want some moisture return to the soil,
even if again it's just a dust-settler, that should do the trick. We have a
long LONG way to go in that regard, however.
Prospects dim a bit after this weekend, it would appear. Hopefully the
forecast models finally coalesce on a singular track towards abundant precip
for most of the state. Taking a look out to Oct. 22 with our Canadian friends,
their forecast model sees some chance of much of the state seeing at least an
inch of rain accumulate through that period, but it ain't a great chance...20-
40% for most, and that's an inch over the next 15 days. That ain't a drought-
ender, unfortunately.
Here's hoping for better news in the next few days!
