Hair today, gone tomorrow

I DON'T KNOW WHY EITHER! But why not, right?

Look, there is NOBODY with the kind of hair range that my good friend (I wish)
Kurt Russel has, from his ultra-feathered "can't the 80s just end" look from
"Tango and Cash" (Saturday) to his ultra-flat flattop from "Stargate" (Sunday).

But come Hell (Tombstone) or high water (Overboard), our cold front will arrive
this weekend right on time for Sunday, giving us a delicious break (Miracle)
from summer (The Mean Season). No, it won't be the death (Death Proof) of our
summer heat (The Best of Times), but it will provide a small-but-extremely-brief
preview of fall.

Rain, you ask? Well, there is a front coming, after all. It does appear there will
be a chance of some rain, but mostly across NW OK on Saturday and Sunday.

And then it's right back to summer with more extended heat as we get later into
next week.

We've now gone a good two weeks in the current heat wave, and about that much
time without really significant rainfall. The worry here is about a flash
drought developing in those areas that have already seen drought relief over
the last couple of weeks.

We have basically the same drought picture as last week.

But that sun has been pretty unbearable over the last couple of weeks, with
very little in the way of moisture. So you can just feel that soil moisture
evaporating with each passing day without any chance of replenishment.

So I'd say something of a "Flash Drought" watch is on for the state, because
even though it's going to cool down for a bit, the heat will definitely be
back and the bit of rain coming with that cold spell is not going to help
much.

Don't worry, I'm saving "Captain Ron" in case we return to the summer of 2011.

By the way, if you see this one?

Be afraid. Be very afraid.
