Oh ye of little drought
Another quick Tick to Tock about all this rain we've been getting. And will be
getting (maybe). This ain't no ill-gotten booty (or ill-booten gotty, to quote
Hawkeye)...this is pure springtime rain as ordered every year. It hasn't come with
a lot of severe weather, which is a bit unusual, but the rain isn't. And there
would appear to be more to come. When you see that outlook for later next week and
interpret correctly that there are increased odds, at least in CPC's collective
mind, for above normal precipitation, you realize it becomes more significant
since this is one of the wettest periods of the year, and therefore above normal
precip is gonna be a lot potentially, and that people that just keep adding more
phrases connected by commas are really weak writers, and that I'm glad I don't
do that, because I like to think I good writer and good grammarer as well. But,
here is the 7-day precip forecast.
That would be on top of what we've seen with this current 5-day period of heavy
rains. I thought the NW had been left out a bit, but last night took care of some
of that weakness in the rain's footprint.
The results is a greatly reduced drought footprint in Oklahoma.
Expect those colors to shrink even further next week due to the rain that has
fallen past the Tuesday 7 a.m. cutoff point, especially in the NW last night
which has been flirting with drought for about a month now. So if you need
rain, might be more coming. If you don't, grin and bear it for now.
Keep those cards and letters coming.
