The Long Bleak Veil
It has been a long time since Oklahoma has seen significant rainfall.
The following maps show the number of days since a quarter-inch and
a tenth-inch, respectively, fell on any calendar day:
The Burneyville quarter-inch figure of 106 days is the longest such
streak at the station since the dawn of the Mesonet Era (Jan 1994).
The previous record at BURN was 97 days, ending with the rains of
September 24, 2000.
The 98 days at Boise City is the longest such streak at BOIS since
112 such days ending in March 2006.
