Hard Freeze in Panhandle Last Weekend

Mother Nature delivered a strong cold front to Oklahoma late last week,
as Mother Nature is wont to do in late March. Temps dropped as low as
eleven degrees yesterday morning in the western Panhandle.

A statewide view of the temps is available at:

This map shows the number of hours below freezing since Friday morning,
along with the lowest temperature achieved during that time frame.

For about 80% of the state, the climatological 50th percentile date of
spring's last freeze falls in the last ten days of March or first ten
days of April. What that means, in English: for most of the state
(save the panhandle and northwest Oklahoma), the last freeze of spring
has occurred by April 10th in about half of the years on record.
