It's Official: It's April
Severe weather once again raked the state Wednesday night into Thursday
morning. The Mesonet has recorded a number of wind gusts greater than
50 mph in the last 24 hours: most of these are associated with strong
synoptic-scale winds behind the system. However, more than a few,
including a 61 mph gust at Sallisaw around midnight, were delivered
courtesy of convective storms.
Locations near Ada felt the forces of a striking bow echo, as can be
seen in yesterday's meteogram from the Ada Mesonet station:
Notice also that ADAX recorded half an inch of rain in about 20 minutes!
