One Year Ago Today

Last August 30, the state was baking in the middle of a 10-week stretch
of record August-September heat and dryness.  For example, the maximum
temps on that day were 107 F, at Wister, Talihina and Clayton.  Nineteen
other stations recorded highs greater than 105 F.

For comparision's sake, today's highs (so far) at Wister, Talihina and
Clayton are 85, 80 and 77 F, respectively.  That's a difference of
30 degrees at Clayton!
