Heat Wave!
The Mesonet station at Altus observed a temperature of 112 F this
afternoon, which is the warmest May temperature observed in Oklahoma
since at least WWII.
The Tipton Mesonet station, and the NWS stations at Altus and Frederick
also recorded high temperatures of 111 F, all exceeding the post-war
record of 110 F, set at Hollis on May 23rd, 1953.
