Another Spring-like February Squall Line

Severe weather marched across the state again last night, bringing large
hail and strong winds to Oklahoma. It's probably safe to say that the
unseasonably warm and moist conditions of the last few weeks have had
a hand in the strength of these events.

Here's a table of the strongest wind gusts of the last 24 hours, with
the most recent first:

Retrop 50 mph 4:00 am Freedom 60 mph 11:15 pm
Watonga 62 mph 4:00 am Cheyenne 51 mph 10:55 pm
Weatherford 54 mph 3:40 am Retrop 52 mph 10:55 pm
Retrop 52 mph 3:35 am Cheyenne 65 mph 10:50 pm
Cherokee 53 mph 12:30 am Cheyenne 58 mph 10:45 pm
Fairview 52 mph 12:15 am Woodward 50 mph 10:45 pm
Fairview 54 mph 12:10 am Erick 53 mph 10:35 pm
Putnam 68 mph 11:40 pm Hollis 61 mph 10:15 pm
Bessie 57 mph 11:25 pm Buffalo 56 mph 9:10 pm
Camargo 55 mph 11:25 pm Goodwell 53 mph 8:25 pm
Watonga 50 mph 11:25 pm Goodwell 53 mph 8:20 pm
Butler 51 mph 11:15 pm

These squall lines have brought much needed rain to much of the state.
In the last 72 hours, about two-thirds of Oklahoma Mesonet stations
have observed an inch or more of rainfall.
