Howdy Again
Network emergencies put a lid on the Ticker towards the end of last
week, but it's back, for better or worse.
The Ticker home page ( https://content.mesonet.org/ticker/archive/ ) has been
undergoing an overhaul, so there might be some bumps along the way
if you're looking for Ticker info. It should be just fine by the end
of the week.
Also, the Ticker does take requests. The author has appreciated them
immensely, especially during sustained outbreaks of horribly normal
weather.
Preliminary Winter Rainfall Data
It looks like the rainfall early in the 1998-99 climatological winter
(Dec 1 through Feb 28) has bolstered the seasonal totals to look fairly
normal (table below). The north central climate division was once again
the recipient of above normal rain.
The following numbers should be taken with a grain of salt: February has
been very dry in all areas of Oklahoma. In fact, the state received
about half its normal rainfall this February.
