Dry Conditions Persist in Southwest
While most of the state has recovered from the extreme hot, dry
conditions this spring and summer, the Keetch-Byram Drought Index
values nearing 500 suggest that drought conditions persist in far
southwestern and south central Oklahoma.
Indeed, several Oklahoma Mesonet sites in the region (Altus, Grandfield,
Hollis, Mangum, Ringling) have received less than seven inches of rain
in the last 90 days.
