October 1998 Wettest on Record for North-Central Oklahoma
More precipitation fell in the north central climate division this October
than in any October since records were kept in 1895. Overall, the state
recorded its 5th wettest October on record, and the most October
precipitation since 1981.
The drought-stricken southwest received above normal rainfall for the
month, but not as dramatically above normal as most of the rest of the
state.
