Localized Rainfall Evident on Stream-Gauge Network
Two central-Oklahoma Cimarron River stream basins give evidence of the
sharp boundary delineating yesterday's precipitation.
The Cottonwood Creek stream gauge near Guthrie shows a spike of stream
flow, while the gauge in nearby Kingfisher Creek shows no indication
of any rainfall.
The gauges are less than 30 miles apart.
The stream gauge network is operated jointly by The Oklahoma Mesonet
and the Oklahoma Water Resources Board.
