Soil Temperature Making Late-Season Run
Mesonet soil temperatures have risen considerably in response to the
warm days of the last week.
The following values represent statewide 24-hour average Mesonet soil
temperatures for each Mesonet soil temperature group.
It's interesting to note that the largest responses come from
the parameters nearest the surface, and from the bare soil plots.
These numbers illustrate how deeper/insulated soil layers typically have
more "memory" of the past than shallower/bare layers.
