Significant Rainfall in North; Some Relief in Northeast

Several Mesonet stations in northern and northwestern Oklahoma observed
significant rainfall in the hours since sunset last night. Kay County
was the recipient of the heaviest rainfall, with two Mesonet stations
recording more than an inch of rain (see table below).

Meanwhile, in the northeast, mostly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures
have brought some relief from the recent heat wave. At 4:00 pm, Vinita was
12 F cooler than at 4:00 pm yesterday. A map of 24-hour temperature change

100+ Club

The Ardmore, Grandfield, Lane, Tishomingo, Walters and Waurika Mesonet
stations each recorded its 23rd consecutive day with a 100+ maximum
temperature.
