Extreme Heat Index over Large Area of the State
High temperatures and high dew point temperatures over Oklahoma have
given rise to some very high heat indices across the state today.
According to the Mesonet, most of the eastern two-thirds of Oklahoma
have suffered heat indices over 105 F for the majority of the afternoon.
As of 2:15 pm, heat indices approaching 115 F were commonplace in the
east.
