Ask and ye shall receive

Fresh off my proclamation yesterday that drought was beginning to build, Mother
Nature provided a nice slow-moving storm system for our enjoyment. The rains
are especially welcome in western Oklahoma, where the driest conditions were
beginning to worsen. The highest totals are in the extreme northwest and the
Panhandle thus far according to the 24-hour Mesonet totals:

Those totals should begin to increase to the east later in the day. For those
of us camping out at NW 5th and Broadway in Moore to get our kids into all-day
kindergarten, however ... we would like to ask Mother Nature , very nicely, to
BACK OFF!
