Welcome to our newest station!

Unfortunately, we lost our Bowlegs. NO NO NO, we didn't have some sort of orthopedic operation, we had to move our Bowlegs (BOWL) site due to some siting issues with trees. And as I've said many times, trees are a scourge along the horizon, robbing you of the all-important 360-degree view so desperately needed by us folks transplanted from the Panhandle.
Yes, I'm seeking help.
But don't think of it as losing a site, because we moved north just up the road from Bowlegs in Seminole County to Seminole. The new site, SEMI, is still very close to Bowlegs, about 4 miles SSW of Seminole and about 4 miles west of the old BOWL site. Here are a few more particulars:
Seminole (SEMI)

So far, since commissioning the site on Oct. 30, 2018, SEMI has had a maximum temp of 58 degrees, a minimum temp of 43 degrees, and 0.38 inches of rain. Max wind speed was 23.2 mph.

It will take a bit of time to incorporate SEMI into our web products and whatnot, but be assured it is out there collecting data as we speak.
Now onto the important part...how do we pronounce Seminole's new ID? SEMI.
I'm gonna stop ya right there, and I'm gonna let ya finish, Taylor, but first I'm gonna say go with "sem-eye." Don't go all haywire and start saying "sem-eee" or "sem-uh."
We already have "my-am-uh" (Miami) in the state that causes problems, and don't think we haven't noticed you, DOO-RANT!!
We want to give a big round of applause to our Mesonet Technicians for getting the new site up and running. They roam the state keeping all 120 sites cranking out data, battling the elements and whatever wildlife decides to come along in their duties. They're the backbone of this whole shebang. Here are a couple of pics of them in action at SEMI.

And here's a pic of General Patton at Sicily in 1943. Just because.
