Zombie summer
Oh, we've tried to kill it several times...back in August, several times in
September thus far. BUT IT KEEPS COMING BACK! Yes, we're talking about summer.
Look, I like summer. I like 71 degrees when I leave in the morning. I like 83
degrees at 8:30pm (when it's still light out). But make up your mind, Mother
Nature! Can you blame us? I froze my tail off this morning (Note: I don't have
a tail, and I can be a bit dramatic).
53 degrees in Norman? Uhhhh, BRRRR!! (remember, DRAMA)
But look what's coming for the next few days.
And that doesn't look to change too much over the next week or so.
Heck, we even have ozone alerts for the OKC and Tulsa metro areas. That's pure
summer stuff right there.
There is some rain in the forecast with some sort of weak front type thing
going on this weekend.
This is an odd thing to say, but that front is pretty wimpy, not like our good
August fronts. And here's a couple of editorial comments from your friendly,
dramatic State Climatologist.
That rain forecast is too optimistic, and the forecast high temperature maps
for the next couple of days are too low, especially for western Oklahoma. Expect
to see a flurry of triple-digits out west.
As far as other flurries...give it a few months. If summer would ever die.
